Today was glorious. My husband and I spent the morning lounging and discussing what was on our agenda for the rest of the day. We decided our garden would be our chore for the day. Went to a little produce stand and bought plants to join those we had already started from seed. The next four hours were spent digging, planting, sweating and admiring our work.
We're both exhausted but I believe that will lead to a blissful full night of sleep! I am now looking forward to our daily walk through our garden when we get home from work. We eagerly watch for sprouts from seeds, get excited when we see blossoms change to fruit or vegetable, and love it when the harvesting begins. Maybe it sounds boring to some, but those simple rituals we share make me the happiest.
I know it's not much for a blog, but I'm sure the coming posts will be more profound as my journaling continues!

I've read blogs and thought - "I wish I could do that!". I recently read someone's first blog and realized it was time to stop wishing and just do it. I have started to write a book many times and always abandoned it after a few chapters. I've decided that a blog may help me get the juices flowing and allow me to finish my dream, so here goes......
I was raised in a small town in northeast Ohio and moved to South Carolina 16 years ago. I'm married to a wonderful man and between us we have 5 children - 2 girls and 3 boys. All are grown and have left the nest. The empty nest has allowed me to realize how I've forgotten how to take care of myself - I've started focusing on my faith, inspirational reading, self-improvement and basically getting re-introduced to myself as something other than a mother.
Join me on my journey!
